Dedicate your mind to the actual flying, and let your iOS device do the hard and distracting tasks. Route planning and the most useful in-flight calculations are available at your fingertips, along with handy tools like a descent planner and a minutes/seconds approach timer. Designed for quick, simple use in the cockpit, Wild Blue gets out of your way and makes it all easy.
You’re also carrying with you the entire airway, navaid and fix database for the United States, supplied by the FAA National Flight Data Center. Give Wild Blue your endpoints and optional limiting information like a “via” point or your maximum altitude, and Wild Blue will calculate the optimum airways route for you – no network connection required!
Included tools:
+ Network-free optimal-route planning between published FAA navaids and fixes
+ Tap to record important times such as Engine Start & Stop, Block Out & In, Takeoff, Landing, and so on
+ Plan your descent to a new altitude in FPM and nautical miles
+ Density altitude: not just the usual “quickie” dry density altitude, but also an accurate humidity-corrected density altitude based on dewpoint
+ Actual wind direction and velocity, also separated into headwind/crosswind components
+ A minutes-seconds approach timer for IFR approaches
+ True airspeed
+ Pressure altitude
This is just version 1 of Wild Blue. The author is a certificated instrument aviator, and is eager to add new features as requested by his fellow aviators.
